The Innovation Collaborative is proud to sponsor the 2015 Black School of Business’s Economic Research Institute of Erie’s (ERIE) Conference entitled, “Fostering Entrepreneurship and Innovation to Promote Local Economic Growth and Development.” The conference will feature a number of world class perspectives on entrepreneurship and local economic development including Dr. Balaji Rajagopalan, Dr. James Kurre, Dr. Marnie LaVigne, Dr. Ralph Ford, and keynote speaker Dr. David Audretsch from Indiana University.

These speakers will discuss the importance of entrepreneurship as it relates to economic development and discuss strategies for Erie to continue to improve its entrepreneurial climate. Speakers from successful businesses will also discuss their stories in building and developing their innovations.

The keynote speaker is Dr. David Audretsch. Dr. Audretsch is a true visionary in the field, writing about entrepreneurship in the 90’s before most considered its value to economic development, wealth creation, and the fields of management and economics. His writing helped to form our modern understanding of entrepreneurship, in particular its relationship to policy and small sized firms.

The Innovation Collaborative is proud to sponsor a thoughtful and rigorous dialogue about how entrepreneurship pertains to our region’s advancement.
